The Columbus Orchestra

The Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra invited our own Maestro Paolo Busato to conduct their latest concert, on February 5, 2017 at 3pm in the Columbus Centre. Entitled, Viennese Waltzes, Overtures and Arias, the Maestro conducted Tenor, Rocco Rupolo and Soprano, Sydney Baedke in their stunning performances.

The Columbus Centre Rotunda was sold out on two levels with standing room only and pieces were met with thunderous applause and standing ovations.

Columbus Belle Voci Chamber Group

The Columbus Belle Voci performed numerous concerts over Christmas and also joined “Getting A Handel on the Messiah” as the Chorus, raising funds for Asbury and West United Church, Precious Blood RC Church, the Villa Colombo Toronto Auxiliary, and Toronto Sick Kids Hospital.

We very much enjoyed working with soloists: Kira Braun, Madison Ryley Arsenault, Steven Henrikson and Rocco Rupolo

The Winter Season has been extremely busy with preparations for the Kiwanis Music Festival.

The Columbus Belle Voci Ensemble prepared and sang two pieces in the 2017 Festival Competition and were awarded First Place and a Gold Medal. Their concert pieces were Java Jive and Nella Fantasia.

Now, the CCB is going provincial! The CCB has been recommended to compete at the OMFA (Ontario Music Festivals Association) Provincials by our Kiwanis adjudicators Dennis Beck and Michele Fortin. The band will be competing in the Class 4 Category of Community Bands, and we will be submitting a recording of our Kiwanis performance along with a second recording of our choice.
